About Me

When I was a little girl, I used to scribble all over everything.

No different from most children, I’ll admit. Thing is, I never stopped. Through writing, I could truly communicate with the world. Being a talkative kid did me no good–I only got written up and rarely ever felt understood. My words seemed to fly over or around people’s heads. Not when I wrote, though. When I put pen to paper, the words flying through my head formed neat little lines and made sense to the world, not just me. That’s when I realized I was meant to write. I was around 10 years old at the time.

I wrote my first novel when I was 17. 200 pages of sweat and tears. Pretty sure I cried more over that book than I have over anything else in my life. Let’s see. It is based on the story of Joseph and his colorful coat in the Old Testament. I may be a politically-neutral Agnostic, but I was raised in a Christian home, and that story fascinated me like no other. But it was incomplete. None of the parts I would have wanted to read about were in the Bible. So who was to stop me from telling the story my own way? I was not put on this earth to be an ordinary woman. My pen is magical, like a wand. It can kill, and it can heal. There is nothing I can’t bring to life on the printed page while it is under my spell.

Whether it’s as a story, an article, or a poem, I can verbalize the things that many can only feel inside. I’ve published a historical fiction novel, a poetry collection, written over 350 poems, and many short stories since I was 14. I’m currently working on two more novels and a second poetry collection.

7 years ago, I decided to help others who weren’t able to express their thoughts as well on the printed page. It’s gone by a few names over the years, but Your Writing Lady, my editing company, was born from that desire to help others communicate.
